1770 and Agnes Waters

Well what a little find this was! We 'stumbled' across the secret of the isolated towns of 1770 and Agnes Waters and had the most peaceful time enjoying the tropical bush and beautiful beaches!

We stayed at a fabulous backpackers called Southern Cross (although Keith kept referring to it as Southfork!) What about that for backpackers accommodation eh! No 'roughing' it here.

There was even a meditation area where you could chill just listening to the chimes and the swaying of the palm trees!

The bikes however were not up to the same standard as the resort and we had an 'interesting ' ride to the beach. Keith was riding a bit of a wreck and he could only manage to salvage one brake! I was riding a bike suitable for a eight/ten year old although Keith had managed to fix both brakes before we went. The gears were rusted 'stuck' so I could only cycle in a low gear which meant that I whinged just about the whole way there!!

As a reward for all that fruitless pedalling we decided to rent a 'proper' bike the next day. We joined a tour - called Scooter Roo, of mechanical 'choppers' and scooters and toured the town. As Keith had ridden a bike before he ended up with a 300cc which he loved and spent the afternoon reliving his youth and the days of his old Yamaha!

We saw our first 'real life' kangaroos here, there were loads of them just lazing around 'eyeing' up the crowds.

Born to be wild eh! Not to bad and with no hint of a motorbike licence!

The finale of the day was watching the sunset with a tray of potato wedges in one hand and a sweet cider in the other! Keith is still watching his weight and on rations so he allowed himself a glass of water!!

I'm trying to follow you wild bikers on your trek. What town are you near now? Southfork doesn't appear on my map. Sorry to see how rough life is for you backpackers, but I guess when you live in the place that boasts the 10 most poisonous creatures in the world, you'd want your bits and bobs off the ground when you're asleep!

Paul, you've gone strangely silent. Have you completely given up trying to one-up me?

Damn that quick blogger. Just pipped at the post again. Some of us have to work long hours you know!

I love the comment about Keith still watching his weight and allowing himself a glass of water. If he keeps going, someone will mistaken him for a surfboard.

Seen the blog and thought for once we would be first.....
but no, beaten by the 2 quickest bloggers in the world! You 2 must have blackberries or handheld pcs or summat. Either that or you have an army of bloggees at your disposal who cunningly pose as yourselves.
oops nearly forgot, Elvis jnr, Parkybird & Samuel
