Surfers Paradise

We only had one night here - the word on the street was that the place is too commercial. So we arrived in the morning - had a full day and then left the next day!

The beaches were quite fabulous - but as you can see very crowded also.

The waves are really massive - they start so far out to sea and roll in for ages, excellent for top body surfers like myself!

This time of the year is also when the college guys finish school and they all head to the beach for the surf and nightlife - it's great for them but a complete nightmare for everyone else - it's known locally as 'schoolies' week. Best avoided! So when the 'schoolies' arrive, the clever people head off to Byron Bay where all the old hippies hang out. That was our next stop - not that we were ever 'soap dodging' hippies mind you.

Haven't actually read the blog yet, but had to show Sissy Jen that I'm not out of the game! I think it's still about 6-2 to Jen though.

Will no doubt 'comment' later.

Ehhhhhhh? Paul beat me to the blog??? Must have been when I had to visit the carsy. Bob was supposed to man the post while I was gone, but he just doesn't get how this whole deal works. 6-2 is still a pretty good lead though.

Happy Birthday to our daughter, Erin, who at this very moment is flying in from California for the holidays!! Yeah!!!

Looks like ya havin' a blast. Have a great Crimble and a spanking New Yor - wherever you spend them

Give Elvis a hug for me.

p.s. I've got 2 posts in now, so it's 6-2-2. Canny for football that like.

Erm Chris, hate to be competitive like, but I beg to differ about the score. You only get a point if you are the first to submit an entry to the blog, so that leaves you with none, mate! You have to be stuck to the blog like glue if you want to be in this competition!
