Nha Trang - Vietnam

2nd May - Nha Trang

Here's a picture of an old crustacean - holding a lobster (couldn't resist!) Seriously though it doesn't come much fresher than this - she buys it from the boat down the beach then carries it along on her bamboo carrier. One side of the bamboo is the fresh lobster on the other side is a charcoal fire with a pot boiling on top........

I'll not tell you what happens next in case the animal rights are reading this!

Back on the beach! What a relief to get on the beach and do nothing for a couple of days after quite a lot of rushing about (are we getting much sympathy here we wonder?) We had a couple of beautiful days here and on the last day we took a boat trip out to some snorkelling sites.

This is Elvis in her unconventional snorkelling attire.

After some hard snorkelling it's into the beautifully warm South China Sea for a red wine party!! Jenny Schmenny - you would have loved it , you could have spilt wine and not got any on the carpet, fell over without hurting your self but it may have been a little tricky for you when 'your lights went out and your little party was over' (he he he he)!!

For a free cup of tea can anyone tell me what steps you should take if you encounter a shark in the wild?

I don't know what the inscription says and to be honest, this was after the wine party so I don't really care! I think the face says it all!

This is on the way back to Nha Trang, spot the storm on the way in from the left.

Unfortunately, this picture is in the wrong blog!! It should be in the next one in a place called Mui Ne - but as these blogs are all being released together, I'll not say.... this is for the next blog. Mui Ne has enormous sand dunes and for a small sum you can hire a board and slide down them. It's fun but not as good as snow because you can't get the sand out of your eyes as easy. This little story continues on the next blog.......

Sissy J's outsource back on duty. The steps to take in the event of a shark encounter are .. Remain calm, maintain eye contact with the shark from the corner of your eye, reduce your vertical profile, avoid grouping with other divers, and if you have to surface make sure you do it deliberately and slowly to avoid agitating the shark into defense and or chase mode and swim directly to your pre planned exit site.
