Punakaika - Pancake Rocks, Ross and Okarito

Anyone for pancakes?

Punakaiki is best known for the wondrous Pancake Rocks and blowholes! Due to weathering etc the limestone rocks have formed what looks like stacks of thin pancakes, interesting eh!

What is also interesting is that these can be reproduced quite nicely in the visitors centre cafe with a spot of maple syrup - yummy!!

This is what happens when 'the wife' refuses to cook my tea - in the stocks.

We were being stalked by a curious sea lion, he had one eye on us most of the time.

We took the Ezy Cruiza back and got the deluxe model! It's a little difficult getting the steam powered engine going but it does keep you warm!

This is a real picture of Elvis and I hunting for the elusive "Kiwi" bird. They're very rare and needless to say we didn't see one although we think we did hear them. We were in their prime habitat - but they're very shy!

Errm, I've lived amongst the two of you on different occasions, and if the wife really would be put in stocks for not making your tea, she'd be in them more than out!!!! Not unless a bowl of Cheerios counts!

Hey Paul...looks like I've beat you to the blog again. :)
